Sustainability & Photography
A great photo doesn’t take from nature. It gives something back at Zero
Objetive: zero carbon
Our commitment to sustainability
At Zero Expeditions, we believe that traveling and photographing the world is a powerful way to connect with nature and local communities. But we are also aware that every trip leaves a footprint. That’s why, since the beginning, we have worked with a clear goal: to minimize the environmental impact of our expeditions and maximize the positive impact on the places we visit.

Photography with Purpose
At Zero Expeditions we are just starting out as a company, but we are not starting from scratch.
After years of traveling, photographing, and working in very diverse destinations, we’ve learned that responsibility cannot be bought with a label or an annual fee. That’s why we are not joining empty certification schemes that don’t reflect what truly matters on the ground.
Instead, we choose to be guided by something simpler and far more solid: our professional ethics—the same principles we have applied for years without needing any badge to validate them.
These ethics come from concrete decisions we take every time we travel:
– changing a location if it coincides with a local ritual that deserves respect;
– not photographing anyone who does not wish to be photographed;
– returning without “the shot” if taking it would disturb wildlife or the environment;
– paying local guides fairly when their work truly deserves it;
– avoiding overcrowded hotspots even if they are the iconic image;
– picking up trash along our routes, even when it isn’t ours;
– helping in extreme situations, like giving water to domestic animals suffering from heat.
We don’t seek recognition for this.
We simply believe that travel done well must be done responsibly.
These values—respect, coherence, and common sense—are a fundamental pillar of our work.
And they will continue to guide us now, as we begin this new chapter as a photographic travel company.
This is not about labels.
It’s about the way we choose to operate.
And yes—of course we are a photographic travel agency, but not at any cost. If what you want is to collect snapshots without awareness or respect, we are not your agency.
Our Photo Ethics
Respect for nature
We keep a safe distance from wildlife, avoid artificial baiting or disturbance and follow local conservation guidelines.
Leave-no-trace creativity
We capture the beauty of wild places without altering them
People first
When photographing communities, we ask permission, share the story accurately and ensure images empower rather than exploit.
Education through imagery
Every expedition includes a conversation about how ethical photography can drive conservation awareness.
Sustainability & Responsible Travel
Zero Expeditions proudly joins the #ViajaDiferente initiative, a movement that promotes conscious, respectful and positive travel—an initiative that doesn’t charge for participation.
For us, adventure only makes sense when it leaves no trace—except for the stories you bring back.
And we believe this mindset shouldn’t require paying for a label, just acting with genuine responsibility.
