Join us on a unique nature photography trip in Extremadura, one of Europe’s richest regions for wildlife.
Over 7 days, with a small group of up to 6 participants, you will photograph some of the most iconic birds and mammals of the Iberian Peninsula under exclusive and professional conditions.
We will use professional hides, high-speed photography techniques, and unique experiences such as the floating hide. Expert guides will accompany you throughout the journey to help you achieve the best photographic results.
Once the trip approaches, we’ll fine-tune the hide schedule — making adjustments if certain species are showing better activity — and any changes will be communicated in the final program.
Highlights
Three intensive days eagle hides, photographing booted eagle, golden eagle, Bonelli’s eagle, black-winged kite, and lesser kestrel.
Small rotating groups to maximize time and diversity of photographic opportunities.
Flexible itinerary, fine-tuned near the trip date to match species activity and best light.
Nocturnal hides featuring genet, beech marten, and badger — the Iberian night’s elusive mammals.
Floating and terrestrial hides for shrikes, kingfishers, and aquatic birds, offering a complete wildlife photography experience.
The mornings of days 2, 3, and 4 will be dedicated to raptor hides, rotating between three emblematic species: booted eagle (águila calzada), golden eagle (águila real), and Bonelli’s eagle (águila perdicera).
Participants will work in small groups of two, alternating hides each day to photograph all three species under different light conditions.
In the afternoon, we’ll move to hides focused on the black-winged kite (elanio azul) and lesser kestrels (cernícalos primilla), working in groups of three, and also alternating hides, to capture their hunting behavior and aerial agility during the golden hour.
Continuation of the eagle hide rotations, allowing each participant to experience all three morning species. Afternoon sessions will once again focus on the elanio and kestrels, perfecting compositions and lighting from different setups.
At dawn, part of the group enters floating hides (hydrohides) to photograph waterfowl from the surface of a lagoon, while others focus on shrikes and kingfishers.
The evening brings another chance for nocturnal mammals, combining patience and low-light creativity.
Participants rotate through the hydro-hides to ensure everyone enjoys every species and lighting condition.
The afternoon is free to rest, review and edit images, or simply relax and soak in the atmosphere of Cáceres before our final night together. Optional we could visit de Monfragüe National Park, a true paradise for raptors.
