Eight days through the heart of the Gulf of California, one of the richest marine environments on Earth. On a single trip we photograph sea lions, whale sharks and three species of whale: gray, blue and humpback.
A small group of just 6 photographers, two professional guides, private boats and a slow pace, so every encounter can unfold without rushing.
The Sea of Cortez, which Jacques Cousteau called «the world’s aquarium», holds some of the greatest marine biodiversity on the planet. Over eight days we travel between La Paz, Bahía Magdalena and Loreto in search of its most iconic residents.
We snorkel alongside sea lions and whale sharks in Espíritu Santo National Park, spend two days with gray whales in Bahía Magdalena and two more with blue whales (the largest animal on Earth) and humpbacks in Loreto National Park. Every outing is on a private boat, exclusive to the group, with some of the finest local captains.
Between outings there is room for everything else: the La Paz waterfront, a sunset with a margarita in hand, the Sierra de La Giganta missions and Loreto, one of Baja California Sur’s «Pueblos Mágicos».
The expedition is capped at 6 photographers with two guides, which allows close, tailored attention for each traveler. Nature photography guided by one principle: no image is worth disturbing the animals in their own environment.
Anyone who wants to extend the adventure can add the optional Colorado River Delta extension, booked and paid separately.
The single-room supplement (6 nights) is 290 €.
